13th - 17th October :
Durga Puja -
Like every year this year also children organized Sharodotsav (Durgapuja). The Durgapuja, being the special festival, got huge participation from the neighboring communities. Durga puja creates the scope of mingling with the population. It also helps to integrate with the inmates of Home along with the children living in the families. Throughout the week all at Apanjan experienced new breath of air and made the ambience colorful and jubilant through new clothes, nice decorations and above all with smiling faces. Famous classical vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan inaugurated the 5 day long event.
29th October :
Rotary Young India Leadership Award

Under the category of unique social work, founder & secretary – OFFER Dr. Kallol Ghosh has been awarded Rotary Young Leadership award at a programme at GD Birla Auditorium. Among others Ms. Agnimitra Paul in Fashion Designing, Srinjoy Basu in Journalism got the award. DG Rotary district 3291 handed over the award to them.

Delegation of Human Rights visited Anandaghar

Delegation of Human Rights, a reputed NGO based out of Kolkata with its members visited Anandaghar and experiencing the nobility attached with it promised working together in future.

NGO Mela at Forum Shopping Mall

As a part of its corporate social responsibility programme the shopping mall, Forum provided its courtyard for setting up stalls with the products developed by some reputed NGOs. OFFER was among them to be invited for setting up the stall. In these three days, various art crafts developed by OFFER got sold through the stall. More importantly, people from different walks of life came and experienced the work of OFFER through these three days.
15th November :
Visited the Chief Minister for Children’s Day -
On the occasion of Children’s day, this year OFFER made a different attempt. Instead of doing any other programme children of OFFER requested an appointment from Honourable CM and wanted to meet him to greet him. On 15th of November, Monday morning children from OFFER along with senior officials visited CM at Writers’ Building and shared their concerns and also thanked him for the support they get form the Govt.
20th November :
Eye Screening Camp -
On 20th November OFFER and Rotary Club Ganga Heritage, Barrackpore, jointly organised an event of eye screening for cataract operation to help the poor people form the community of Baranagar Municipality.
Nearly 298 people got their eyes examined. 27 needed surgery, which was done at Rotary Eye Hospital at Bansberia Hoogly. Those who have needed plus and minus power to their eyes, was provided with spectacles at a very cheap rate. Chairman of Baranagar Municipality and Local ward Councilor was also took part at the event.

Agnimitra Paul celebrated her birthday with the children of Anandaghar

Well known Fashion Designer Ms. Agnimitra Paul celebrated her birthday at Anandaghar this year. She wanted to spend the day differently. Cutting of cakes, candle lights, performances by kids felt the air with happiness. She was so happy at the end of the programme that she promised future association with Anandaghar.
1st Dec and 2nd Dec :
‘Gift me a Sky’ -
This year OFFER observed the World AIDS Day through a complete new programme. The programme named “Gift me a sky” – supported by Bajoria Charitable Foundation, for the first time in their lives, took all 42 children of Anandaghar on flight. From Kolkata Netaji Subhas International Airport, Joy, Mumpy, Titli along with 10 celebrities from Kolkata from different walks of life flew to Bagdogra airport at Siliguri. The programme was flagged off in Kolkata by Honourable Mayor of Kolkata and was received at Siliguri by Honourable Mayor of Siliguri. Friends from Media also traveled with. At Siliguri children were part of the programme organized by Mayor of Siliguri at evening. The next day team OFFER traveled to Mirik for fun. The two day will remain as a million dollar moments in the lives of all who got the “sky as a gift”.
8th December :
World Mental Retardation Day observation

On 8th of December OFFER organized an event to promote social awareness on Mental Retardation issue. Kolkata Tramways Company provided a tram, nicely decorated with ribbons and balloons, which went around the city while our staffs were busy spreading information through leaflets and loudspeakers to the people along the streets. Another aim of this event was to enhance social inclusion by gathering normal and differently able children together, where they had chance to perform together and also had lunch on to the tram itself. Chairperson State Women Commission, Dr. Malini Bhattacharya inaugurated the event along with the Officer in Charge of Gariahat Police Station.
24th December :
Christmas Eve celebration -
December is the month of eternal hope. With the coming of Christ, there cannot be patches of sorrow or despair. Like the festivals of light, Christmas to OFFER is also a time to spread of hope and happiness. So 24th of December all the children of OFFER celebrated Christmas Eve. Nearly 2000 children under Sahajpath Programme got winter Jackets as Christmas gift. All of them enjoyed the cultural programme along with the magic show performed by Magician Arindam.
